I have been thinking a lot about my business and how it fluctuates. One month the response is overwhelming and the next month…crickets. As a small business owner I have gotten used to the fluctuation in business. It's not that you are doing anything wrong, it's just how business is. How you handle it is what is important. Your attitude towards the low times when your phone isn't ringing or your clients don't need your services as much is the most important thing.
You have choices...
✨One is to stay positive and focused. Find new ways to attract new clients, evaluate your marketing strategy, implement new, innovative ideas, etc.
✨Or the other option is to have a negative attitude. You may blame yourself, your clients or any external thing. You are not focused on how you can improve, but on the immediate situation and who's to blame.
Another thought was that even through the crickets, I didn’t give up. I stayed persistent in my beliefs and actions. I stayed consistent in how I spoke of my business; even when I had no clients, I spoke of my business as though it was a multi-million dollar conglomerate. I constantly visualized my business in other states with employees, a fleet of vehicles, etc. I did not allow the number of clients I had at the time to sway my belief in my business, in my success and most importantly, in myself.
No matter where you are in your entrepreneurial journey, stay consistent in the business-growing activities. Stay persistent in your faith and belief in yourself. Don't stop dreaming and visualizing. Continue to market your business and stay focused; I promise you it will pay off.
It is is paying off! The blessings for my business are pouring in and I know there are more to come!
If you are a business owner, continue to stay positive, persistent and consistent in all that you do and I am willing to make this safe bet that you will be successful!
