The Queens of Richland is my very first novel.  I am a poet, but this story came to me and I just started writing.

I was at a Christmas party with a friend and didn't know anyone there so I became a little bored.  I found a quiet spot away from all of the guests, music, chatter and laughter to chill out.  As I sat there watching what was going on, the story began to formulate, I pulled out my phone and began to type.

I finished most of the first chapter there!

When I finished the entire book and read it, I realized that this was a book about me.  Each character is a part of me.  The events, the feelings and the reactions...all me.

My prayer is that the story will be entertaining, but powerful.  The characters in this book are all strong women in their own rights, dealing with life the best way they know how with a strong tribe to lean on when they are not so strong.

Stay tuned for the rest of the books in the series!  Ase'

Excerpt from the first chapter of The Queens of Richland...

On an unseasonably warm evening in December at an office building, holiday get together she walked in the cozy bistro dressed casual, yet classy. Her brown, curly hair was pulled up into a loose, neat bun held in place by a multicolored silk scarf with curls framing her face and make up that looked professionally done. She adorned an elegant, flowing cranberry colored, chiffon blouse that rested lightly on her shapely hips, perfect fitting designer dark blue jeans and a pair of sexy, but not too sexy multicolored pumps. She shifted her silver, beaded clutch, and the tastefully wrapped gift she brought for the secret Santa gift exchange from her right hand to her left in preparation of a handshake or two as she made her way to the bar because that was the only seat, she could see available.

She muted her phone, took a quick, deep breath, and scanned the dimly lit room.
